Home. For this recipe you will need:- Glassy
- 4 pounds fresh plums
- 8 cups sugar
- 2.1 cup water
- 1 (1.75 ounce) package commercial pectin
- Half a teaspoon of butter or margarine
Sterilize jars of plum jam
First, you will need to sterilize the jars. Fill a large pot with water and turn off the stove. While the water heats, wash the jars, lids and screw bands in hot soapy water. Rinse well and in hot, but not boiling. Boil the jars for 10 minutes. The help of sterile forceps, remove the hot jars and leave the water. Set jars upright on a clean towel.Prepare and cook plums for plum jam
Then wash and measure the plums. Cut into small pieces. In a large pot, add the chopped prunes and half a cup of water. On medium heat, bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently.
