Green tomato and apple chutney recipe

The sour taste of green tomatoes and apple mixture is a fascinating spicy spices.

Preparation time: 20 minutes

Cooking time: 45 minutes

Total time: 1 hour and 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds (1 kg) of green tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 pounds (1 kg) tart apples, peeled and chopped
  • Half a pound (250 g) onions, chopped
  • 1 pound (500 g) raisins
  • 3.3 / 4 cup (750 g) brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • I black pepper 2 tablespoons of ground coffee,
  • 2 teaspoon allspice (pimento)
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 3 cups (700 ml) red wine vinegar

Preparation:

Mixing green tomatoes, apples, onions, raisins, brown sugar, ginger, pepper, allspice, salt and garlic in a pan of stainless steel. Add 6 tablespoons of vinegar and simmer, add the remaining vinegar and the mixture boils.

Stir the mixture thickens about 45 minutes.

If thick, the transfer in sterile containers chutney. To be sealed when cold. Store in a cool, dark place.

Yield: about 8 pounds
