Creamy Tarragon Recipe

Preparation time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 10 minutes

Total time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
  • 1 teaspoon dried chervil
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Preparation:

Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat; Add flour. Cook 1-2 minutes or until flour is brown. Gradually milk; stir until dissolved flour mixture. Continue cooking, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Add sour cream, tarragon, chervil, basil, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Storage in an air-tight container in a refrigerator. Instructions for use.

To serve, transfer the sauce in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium heat for 3-5 minutes or until hot, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with meat.

Yield: about 1-1/2 cups sauce
