Potato storage and selection
Fresh apples are available from September to November, although most varieties are available year round. Buy well-colored apples that are firm, with a new (not musty) fragrance. Skins should be smooth, without cuts or slits. You can dry apples, tan and brown skin remarkably. This is called "burn-in" and usually has no effect on the taste of the apple. Be sure to select the type of apple for your special flat
.Before serving, lightly rub the apples in cold water to remove the wax layer of light and potential remains insecticides or buy organically grown apples more expensive if you do not feel comfortable in these things.
After cutting the apples will discolor if left outdoors. To discoloration, ascorbic acid dip juice (like pineapple and lemon) or powder to avoid. Golden Delicious apples tend to resist browning after cutting, so they are a good choice for the seat and snack tray.
Basically, store apples in a cool, dark place. If you are a cold basement in need, place the apples in a plastic bag and store in the drawer of your refrigerator.
Apples can be stored and / or frozen. Refer to this table useful for varieties of apple and usage information.
